As part of the research project we had lectures which covered most Art movements/Fashion movements throughout time. We then had to choose three to research further.
-Make do and Mend
Make do and Mend was a choice that that interested me as I'm into recycling and Eco-friendliness so the idea of women re-using old material to produce everyday clothes I found it quite inspiring. After the lecture on Make do and Mend we were set an Activity for the day to produce a garment using an old/vintage piece if clothing. Below is the Link to that page.
Surrealism was what I choose do look at in the summer for our summer project. I drew a lot of objects that I found on the beach that I thought were particularly surreal and that would find a place on a Dali Painting.

- Areas to improve for the next project
After my tutorial I now know the areas that needed more work and that I can improve on in the next project to gain higher marks in the project overall.
- Research sources - I need to look at a wider range of research. I feel that during this project I found surrealism more interesting so the other two research topics suffered cause of this. In future I will make sure that i do the same amount of research for each topic before I get too carried away with the ideas stage.
- Presentation of the final outcome - I need to make a more professional final design. I feel that I rushed the final design and could of presented this a lot better. For future projects I will look into possibly using CAD as this is a sure start way of making designs more professional.
- Independent learning - I need to improve my time management skills. I found that I was very rushed at the end of this project to get everything complete in time and I think my work suffered due to this. I need to work out how much time needs to be spent on the project and divide this up into workable amounts.
